FOCUS seeks to hire a Director for its national summer feeding program. The Director is responsible for the overall planning, management and implementation of FOCUS’ national summer feeding program, which is aimed at providing meals to low-income children during the months when they are not in school. Responsibilities include the selection and monitoring of sites, ensuring compliance with state regulatory agencies, conducting required site monitoring visits and trainings, submitting required reimbursement material, and communicating program difficulties, accomplishments, and challenges to appropriate personnel. This position will supervise at least one Summer Food Services Program Assistant.
The Director will recruit, hire, and train local operational staff and oversee the programs. The Director will travel to cities before, after, and during the feeding programs in order to organize, plan, and recruit volunteers, hire part time staff, and assist in fundraising.
Responsibilities included in this role:
· Develop appropriate operational timelines for each summer feeding target city.
· Oversee implementation of all FOCUS program activities in the area including weekly meal service/delivery.
· Support with the FOCUS fundraising staff to develop volunteer and donor engagement strategy.
· Provide excellent recordkeeping regarding meal requirements and the number of participants.
· Coordinate and conduct required sponsor monitoring visits: pre-operational, first week visits, monitor’s site reviews including developing schedule of visits.
· Supervise at least one Summer Food Services Assistant.
· Attend required state agency training.
· Ensure feeding site compliance with onsite record keeping – inventory control sheets, meal count records, daily meal counts.
· Coordinate accurate completion of sponsorship application with FOCUS program staff.
· Ensure accurate data entry of sponsor and site application into required database systems.
· Ensure that sponsored sites submit required recordkeeping material on weekly basis and that information is tracked, reviewed, submitted, and approved for reimbursement submission.
· Ensure logistical support and information is provided to appropriate personnel related to product inventory and orders, deliveries and storage, etc.
· Provide operational and administrative support to program sites.
· Ensure adequate product inventory for meal service and ordering additional product as appropriate, including the purchase of milk.
· Maintain accurate and detailed records of purchases, visits, etc.
· Establish and maintain relations with local Orthodox parishes, the nonprofit community, corporate and foundation grant makers and any relevant community development groups.
· Support the research and development of new funding opportunities.
· Assist with communications across platforms: social media, website and newsletters
· Other activities as required to achieve the program’s success
