Job Title: Site Supervisor - FOCUS Summer Feeding Program
Location: Washington D.C.
Reports to: National Summer Feeding Operations Manager
___________________________________________________________________________
About the Program
The FOCUS Summer Feeding Program is a national program aimed at reducing the “silent crisis” of child hunger in America. Childhood hunger is a problem that affects every community in our country. During the school year, approximately 21 million children in the United States receive free and reduced-price lunches, through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National School Lunch Program. But, when school is out, many of these children go hungry because they have no consistent access to healthy meals. The FOCUS Summer Feeding Program is designed to provide needy children with nutritious meals all summer long and to engage our vast volunteer network in this effort to help children.
About This Role
To support Summer Feeding activities, FOCUS seeks to hire a Site Supervisor. This is a part-time position of approximately 24-30 hours per week, for a fixed period of time -- approximately from June 27 – September 2, 2016. The Site Supervisor will manage day-to-day activities of FOCUS’ feeding program in Washington DC. Working with FOCUS’ corporate and institutional partners, the site supervisor will engage local volunteers and parishes to prepare and serve approximately 150 cold sack lunches each weekday to a pre-identified group of children in need. With morning-only hours and an hourly pay rate in the $12 - $15 per hour range, this position is ideal for school teachers or college/grad students on summer vacation. FOCUS also encourages stay-at-home parents or energetic retirees to apply for this position.
