Seeking an individual willing to live in Reno, NV area before this Fall. Candidate is (ideally) an Orthodox Christian with a certification in elementary education. Prior experience a plus. Initially, would need to be comfortable in multi-classroom setting (k-8 student enrollment anticipated). Formal/hard launch for the school will be in Fall, 2017, as project site is completed. The vision for the Saints Nicholas and Sophia Orthodox Homeschool Cooperative is to
offer an Orthodox Christian pedagogy for grades kindergarten through high school. Eventually, this will be accomplished with boarding Orthodox students onsite. Furthermore, that prospective, eligible students be enrolled, notwithstanding inability to pay. Additionally, that this Orthodox Christian educational Outreach be contextual to a larger community of Orthodox Christian endeavors, within the practice of Orthodox Christian worship.
Bishop Maxim has Blessed the pursuit of this Pan-Orthodox Ministry. Bishop Maxim, of the Diocese of Western America of the Serbian Orthodox Church was enthroned on July 30, 2006. The Saints Nicholas and Sophia Orthodox Homeschool Cooperative will be a ministry of the St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Mission Church of Reno, Fr. James Barfield, Priest.
