Job Description
About CrossRoad: CrossRoad is an engaging summer institute for Orthodox Christian high school juniors and seniors sponsored by the Office of Vocation & Ministry at Hellenic College. CrossRoad offers two ten-day sessions on the campus of Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Videography and Audio Recording
The videographer/video editor will
· Draft CR Memory Video Vision Statement prior to program to be reviewed by/discussed with CR Director during initial meetings.
· Film all key aspects of both CrossRoad sessions including, but not limited to, classroom lectures, participant interaction, travel highlights, staff programming, chapel services, and participant interviews reflecting the vision and central themes of CrossRoad.
· Keep a written log of short clips of the most engaging material.
· Interview participants throughout each session to capture a sense of what they are learning.
· Back-up all video footage throughout the two sessions.
· Effectively record footage at short notice as needed.
· Effectively record audio of each key educational session (to be marked on videographer’s program calendar) on separate recording device or via lapel microphone(s) in order to sync with video footage during video editing phase.
Video Editing
The videographer/video editor will
· Sort through the mass amounts of footage and choose the appropriate segments that reflect the CrossRoad message.
· Edit footage and add appropriate background music in accordance with the below timeline to create two memory videos for CrossRoad participants.
· Edit footage to create a 2-minute recap video of each session to post on our social media accounts at the conclusion of each session.
· Edit footage to create a 2-3 minute promotional video of the program that will be used for marketing for the 2018 summer.
· Master edit and make master copy in accordance with the below timeline.
· Each session has a four-day period where each day there are two 45-minute lectures. On each of these days, immediately download footage to a CR computer so team can upload video to CrossRoad classroom.
Memory Video/Promotional Video Purpose Statement
The purpose of creating a CrossRoad Memory Video and three short promotional videos is two-fold:
- Pedagogical Tool: They will serve as a substantial reminder/review for key take-aways and lessons in each of the sessions and throughout CrossRoad as a whole.
- Community-building/PR Tool: By the videos capturing highlights of the ten-day program, participants will have the chance to recall and deepen the community ties that they began during CR, and participants will also be able share this experience with family and friends.
Requirements
- Must be a college/graduate student or young professional who is an active member of the Orthodox Church
- Competency in using a video camera and coordinating media/technology
- Competency and former experience using professional video editing software
- Excellent organizational skills
Dates: June 17 – July 17, 2017 (videography); see timeline for video editor dates.
The videographer will meet with the CR Director/Associate Director before the sessions begin, will work throughout the CrossRoad sessions, which run from June 17-June 27 and July 5-15, 2017.

Note: Due dates for a first/rough draft will be determined by Assoc. Director during initial meetings with videographer/video editor.
